I love heavier fighting games like Exceed and Way of the Fighter, so I thought this might be too light and silly for me. But beneath its amusing character design and artwork, it actually has a surprising amount of depth. The combos you can pull off between characters really does feel like an arcade tag team. And with fifteen unique characters, there’s plenty of variety.
One thing to note: I’ve read on Boardgamegeek that the Clown character’s power is undercosted. It’s printed as 2, if I recall correctly but it’s power level is more in line with the 4 or 5 cost abilities of other characters. Not a big deal, and easily house-rule-able. Otherwise, the variety of abilities and play styles among the characters all seem well-balanced. For the price, this is definitely worth checking out!
