Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn - Teaser Information for the Second Release of Disney’s New Trading Card Game

Although the immersive trading card game Disney Lorcana has only just hit the shelves, producers have already teased the second chapter which will introduce new fan favourite Disney characters and their friends (or foes).
The release date for the second chapter is likely at the end of November or very early in December 2023 - just in time for Christmas 2023. Similar to The First Chapter, the Rise of the Floodborn is set to include booster boxes and sleeve packs, a gift set and some other products.

Catch Up on Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter

Disney Lorcana is a new trading card game released in August 2023 whereby players seek to achieve a score of 20 Lore.

Players can achieve greater Lore scores by playing a character card as a ‘quest’ to move up their board. Players can also choose to use character cards to ‘challenge’ an opponent’s character in an attempt to remove the other player’s strong character cards from play.

Disney Lorcana also contains item and action cards for players to use strategically throughout gameplay, such as drawing new cards or removing damage from a character card.

Launch Details for Disney Lorcana Rise of the Floodborn

Disney Lorcana Rise of the Floodborn sees classic characters coming into the trading card game for the first time. So be on the hunt for familiar faces, such as Princess Tiana, Snow White and Winnie the Pooh, on the new cards in Rise of the Floodborn. Alongside these new character cards, the second set will include over 200 additional cards and the brand-new Risist keyword.

These new cards are designed to fit within the scope of the original game and work in harmony with your existing Disney Lorcana set. Therefore, players can reignite their excitement for the game by introducing new cards and building their deck over time. However, if you can’t get your hands on the original Disney Lorcana set (as supply is currently failing to meet demand this may be a common problem for board game fans), you can play the second set without owning any of the original Lorcana cards from The First Chapter.

The new Resist keyword ability can also help players add a layer to their strategy as this offers a way to reduce the damage caused by opponents during gameplay.
