The game on time. There was ample box material to protect the product from damage of which there was none. All the pieces where there and the artwork was as expected which was great. This will be a welcome edition to family game night.

I had the original HeroQuest and enjoyed it quite a bit with friends and now we can enjoy it again and now you can too. Easy to learn and easy to play though looking at the same playfield time and time again loses some of it's charm so if you really enjoy the game then you'll want to invest in some map tiles or expansions to spice things up. All in all a great return for a great game.

This game is fun. We had an older version many years ago, bought this one (and some of the expansions) and play with our entire family. It's been a lot of fun. It's like D&D light. It was easy to learn. It's a lot to set up and put away, but worth the time for the fun we had.

I still have the original game from decades ago. It's held up great because I take care of such things, but it's just cardboard and plastic. Why on Earth is it $175? It's not even a new game design, so that's essentially free to the maker. It's a great game and an easy way to get non-nerds to play a table-top RPG, sure, but $175? Seriously? Cardboard and plastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nostalgia at it's finest
Reviewed in Canada on August 31, 2022
As I’m sure with many, I bought this game (and it’s expansions) out of pure nostalgia of one of my favorite childhood board games. I was not disappointed with the memories and feeling this gave me.

It is certainly updated with higher detailed minis and the furniture being detailed plastic instead of cardboard, is nice. I’ve read many people were disappointed with the type of plastic used to create the minis, but this game is meant to be played, even by children as parents my introduce their kids to a great game they grew up with, so I agree with the choice of materials. As well, the character sheet pad is great size with lots of sheets (easily 3 times as many as the original, with another pad book in the Frost Horror expansion, which btw includes a female barbarian mini), that will supply you for many, many adventures.

Many minis were bent in the package, but this is not rare in the mini world and easily addressed with the hot/cold water method. There are rats and skulls as separate minis instead of being part of the furniture as with the original game. This can be solved by gluing them on, but then the furniture will not fit back in the plastic molded trays. (I’m on the fence if I will glue them on the furniture for this reason) The characters are more realistic, and having female versions of the monsters is a nice touch. I look forward to painting them. If I had one major issue, the minis fit tightly, very tightly in the molded trays and fell like you are going to break when taking them out.

The board is good quality and bigger than the original, and is an accurate rendering of the original, with hits my inner child just right. And the adventure book, is best as I can see, very faithful to the original game I loved as a kid.

This is great, simple dungeon crawler for when you don’t want to be bogged down with over complicated rules, especially of if introducing people or your kids to the style of game, or simply have as much time to sit and play a full campaign, it is easy to just run through a good adventure. Whether to relive the epic adventures of your childhood or new to this game, I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh the memories

Had the original Heroquest as a kid... bought this to play with the family now like my father had done for me and my brother 30 years ago.

It's as good as I remember. Somehow Hasbro managed to not ruin it even though the IP changing from more Warhammer to more 'generic' might annoy some folks.

2.0 out of 5 stars not worth the price!
Reviewed in the Netherlands on September 11, 2024
Not worth the price. 94 euros for only 31 minis that are not unique. Lots of doors and other non adding value items. Had a lot more fun with wizards of the coast for 2/3 of the price! I expected something amazing for this amount of money but it is not really worth it.
