- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2021Great edition to the Quacks of Quedlinburg game. This IS NOT a standalone game. You must have the base game (Quacks of Quedlinburg) in order to play this. If you’re like me and you’ve played your games many, many times over, they can get a bit stale. Even if you don’t use the Locoweed book or the Witches themselves (Hocus Pokus anyone???) the added replay ability of the additional books for the preexisting ingredient types is enough of a reason to get this expansion. Plus it adds a 5th player option.
Side note: do yourself a favor and visit the boardgamegeek store and get the GeekUp bits and upgraded cloth bags for this game. It makes it soooooooooooo much nicer. Worst case just get the upgraded bags. I found the consistency much better on subsequent play throughs.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2021Instant family favorite. Bought the expansion within a couple weeks we liked it so much. Now it's going to be a part of our annual family boardgame tournament. Kinda like deck building with the trill of the push your luck mechanic. Enough stategy for the adults while having enough luck to give the kids a shot once in a while.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2020We wanted to be able to play Quacks with all 5 members of the family (instead of just 4 of us). The added cookbooks (ingredient options), ingredient (the "fool's herb" or LocoWeed), along with the 5th player pieces make this an easy add.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2021When I first heard of Quacks, I dismissed it because... honestly... "Quacks of Quedlinburg?? You've got to be kidding!"
But give it a try. The game is awesome, endlessly variable, and loads of fun on game night.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2021Took a chance on getting a mis-print copy since Amazon's price was half that of our FLGS (which usually beats Amazon on game prices, and was where we bought the base game). Arrived with nothing worse than a dent in the box, which we're tossing out anyway.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2021The Quacks of Quedlinberg is a fun "press your luck" game where you have to decide if you want to keep pulling chips from your bag trying to make a slightly more powerful potion, but pulling too many of the wrong chips causes you to lose out on the full bonus. Luck does play a surprising amount of a role, but its a great game.
The Herb Witches expansion adds one new ingredient as well as 3 herb witches that can each be called on once per game to provide a benefit.
It adds quite a bit of strategy. Timing the use of the herb witches can provide a huge boost to your chances, but poor timing might limit how much you get. And the press your luck element remains.
My gaming group likes this game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Check the contents / language on tiles
The game (or rather, expansion) itself is great! Just be warned that the copy we received had English on one side and Chinese on the other. Misprint maybe? Regardless, this was a gift and I was expected to get the gift back from my friend who had integrated the game into their core set to send back.
Embarrassed much?

5.0 out of 5 stars Next Level Quackery!
The base game of Quacks has been, to date, one of our best board game investments, and remains a favourite among our growing collection. We have been anxiously awaiting this expansion since we knew of its existence!
We were NOT disappointed.
The function of the witches, and the new 'pages' in the book that add additional options for existing ingredients, really opens up the game. We love some of the new interactions between ingredients, that allow you to accelerate your progress, both around the VP track, and within your pot on each turn!
Being able to buy chips to put in OTHER players' pots, that benefit YOU when they draw them, was a fun twist as well.
The Witches have proven to be a game changer at opportune moments, especially when you forget they're there and then all of a sudden - BAM - they completely change the outcome of your turn!
We will forever be indebted to Shut Up & Sit Down for turning us on to this (and MANY other) game(s).
Happy stirring!
