- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2021This game is very well designed and captures the theme amazingly well. It even has actual historical references that tie into the period and some of the troubling experimentation that was part of the early days of modern science. It’s only draw back is the length. This is a 3+ hour game even with experienced hardcore board gamers.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2020While the subject may keep some from playing, this is a macabre game that is true to its' theme.
Paris, rob graves, steal bodies, gain experience and build a Frankenstein monster.
This is a very challenging game with lots of replay built in.
My group loves it.
It plays well with 2, 3 or 4 players and a solo variant is available.
Excellent buy
- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2020I absolutely love this game. It is not for everyone. It is quite dark and morbid. However, from a thematic perspective, it is pitch perfect. The game mechanics are pretty standard worker placement, resource management, with some engine building. There is quite a bit of luck and challenge involved with animating your own monster, but this also fits the theme very well.
As much as I love this game, it is not without flaws. The rules and iconography are a bit clumsy, making it confusing to learn. Also, there are some color mismatches that add to the confusion. Also, the game play is rather long. There is an Igor rules variant that has been released by the game designer, but I have yet to try.
I am a huge fan of this game as is, but I look forward to trying the variant.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2021As someone who is just getting into worker placement, this game was. a beast but worth the purchase. I've always loved a dark horror taste in my board games and this did not disappoint. This took some time getting used to and learning, however it was still a quality game. I love the theme, the story and in game events actually interact the players with the Frankenstein monster, the plot is a neat flavor element. However, there are a couple negatives. The player boards are not that great just thin cardboard player mats, not a high deal for me but still could've upped the design quality on those. Secondly there are some rule technicalities within the game that are not addressed in the rulebook. The rulebook itself is played out in an easy enough to understand layout, but we had to rationalize through a few questions that came up. All in all I still say it's worth the money and a very good thematic game for those who enjoy the horror genre. Solid 4 stars, and would recommend to semi experienced board gamers.

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2020Was a little intimidated by how long people say this game takes. My wife and I love board games (Pandemic, Forbiden Island, Forbidden Desert, Horrified, etc...) and horror movies.
Theme looked pretty cool and have never played a game with this much...meat.
Well, I ordered it and was looking forward to give it a shot.
Received it and read the directions. After a couple days, my wife and I set some time aside to play it. I was concerned she wouldn't like it being that it was a little complex.
The game did not disappoint. There definitely was a learning curve until we got the hang of it. We both loved it. Did it take a while to play....um, yep. About three hours...or more. I know thats seems long, but it didn't feel like it. We were pretty into the game. This also took in to account how many times we stopped and looked back over the directions numerous times.
We are really looking forward to playing it again. I'm certain our next time will be quicker.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2019The game is super fun. There are some minor cosmetic complaints I have, like the color choice for the blocks. The game is also very long, but this was addressed through the inclusion of the Igor Rules that are posted on the company's website.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2021Easy to learn if you're an avid board gamer, tough on people who are used to monopoly and clue
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2021Love it, although game is long, it keeps you engaged to the very end. I Like the fact that there’s lots of replay ability

5.0 out of 5 stars De lo mejor

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Zustand + Top Qualität: Würde ich wieder kaufen!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghoulish expert-level tabletop game!
Love the thematic and mechanics of the game even if a bit long, though this can be shorten using an alternative released by the game developers on-line.
You need to collect body parts either by working, robbing cemeteries, murder in order to build your monster the quickest.
Highly recommended for games lovers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Un euro muy temático 👍
