This game is SUPER SIMPLE to learn and play, yet it is silly, cute, and actually fun!

We are playing this game with two 50+ year olds, one 35 year old, and one 17 year old. All of us really enjoy this game.

One warning, you will need a good bit of table to play this. We use a 4' x 4' card table, and that is a really tight fit.

I have instigated a house rule that requires players to only play a card if they leave the space open so there is a possibility of placing another legitimately playable card. In addition, players are not allowed to move the track in order to facilitate further play. This both adds minor challenges and makes the entire game simpler. I don't know if the game would actually be more fun without these rules, but it guarantees that everyone can keep playing. (This would be especially good if you were playing with younger kids.) Either way, it serves our purposes and we have all fallen in love with this unique little game.

I want to dislike this game, but somehow my family still manages to enjoy it despite its faults. It's a small box game that includes a deck of cards, dice, and a caboose meeple.

The Good: The game contents are fine - the box, cards, meeple, and dice are all of good quality. The rules are simple, virtually no setup time, and the winding railroad track looks good - albeit a bit silly - on the table. It's easy to play, and games are relatively quick. Your turn consists of playing cards from your hand to extend the track, then rolling a number of dice based on the number on the cards played to see where you end up.

The Bad: Dependent on what limited cards you draw, the gameplay has very little strategy other than knowing when to intentionally take penalties to cancel others out. There is no real "bad luck" mitigation, or defense against a trap (visible) laid by an opponent. Win or lose is almost entirely up to your dice roll. This can be super challenging if you have a younger player that can't differentiate being bad at a game and just unlucky.

The Indifferent: Depending on how the game plays out, it takes up a lot of space on the table. This oftentimes leads to having to shift the entire layout every couple of turns. Minor annoyance.

Overall, my family enjoys this game. I don't know for sure what it is, because typically I dislike games that are almost purely luck. However, each time we play we typically play a second game, and are almost always laughing at each other's misfortune. It's not a game I would grab off the shelf myself, but I'll happily play it if someone else does.

The rules weren't that fun, so we made up different ones
