    I’ve heard hack reviewers say this is a game of rolling high numbers, they are wrong!A lovely brain burner with the right balance of luck, strategy and flexibility. A 2 player game lasts about 20 minutes and it’s small enough to take most places. English rules found online without any real search effort and cheap enough for what the game gives you.

      I bought this version as the English rules version was more expensive and I looked up the English pdf online. I’d also advise watching one of the YouTube videos on playing as it helped me understand the mechanism of the game (low dice and silver platter). I’ve also found there’s an app as well that is pretty good for solo play. The game itself is great - not too long and as one of the other reviewers note, a mix of strategy and luck. The first rounds seem as if not much is going on but then it all starts to grow in the last two or three. Good alternative to Yahtzee.

      love these games have 'thats pretty clever', 'twice as clever' and now have 'clever hoch drei' actually bought this german version just for the scoring pad as was cheaper to buy the whole game instead of just the refill pad! hoch drei is german version too, but similar to the other two games, and the rules in english are easy to find online, so highly recommend, just check which version you are buying.

      We didn't find this quite so quick to pick up as we had been expecting, having heard favourable reviews. The German language is a bit of a disadvantage as the English instructions that we found online took a little getting your head around without the illustrations. Nonetheless once we had finally got our heads around it and played a game we were up and running. It's a fun little game and is quite different... But whilst we enjoyed it I don't think it's going to be a favourite with us (we do have a lot of games though). Handy for camping or trips away as it's quite compact.

      I saved 3-4 quid getting this German version and with hind sight I would recommend just going for the English version as by the time you have faffed about with finding instructions online and printing them of then the extra money is worth it probably, as the English instructions that we found weren't particularly clear.

      I have bought so many copies of this game, once played you can't get enough of it , so addictive, it looks complicated but we play it from young to old (78yr old mum loves it! ). It plays up to 4 players but cant see why it couldn't be more. It's a little in the Yahtzee theme, in that you have 3 throws per turn, and choose your best options. You throw numbered and coloured die and then cross off the relevant sections on your score sheet - trying to obtain the best score. It can be played solo as well. Look on You tube though for instructions as they are in German in the box.

      A few friends introduced us to this game, its a great one to teach to new people only taking a few minutes. Yet for the more experienced player there is a tactical depth that is enjoyable and when coupled with the chance element of your roll it makes a really pleasing game.

      This particular edition has instructions in German only, I'm pretty sure if you search 'That's pretty clever' you'll find a translated version, otherwise plenty of youtube videos to teach you the finer points of the game. And as mentioned, its pretty straight forward.

      English instructions are available online, as are some youtube videos that help explain it. It's pretty simple to learn and quick and fun to play. It's a bit like Yahtzee in that you roll dice and fill in your sheet depending on the dice values. Then try to get the best score by recording these values on the sheet in the "best" way. It values some forward planning as you can chain turns together to improve your score further. Good fun!
