I already had a copy of the original printing of Race for the Galaxy and the first two expansions inside of this box. The third expansion (The Brink of War) had long since gone out of print, making this the most affordable option for adding it to our collection.
We were not disappointed. The consolidated rulebook was a timesaver, and all of the components were entirely compatible. Comparing the quality of components between this and the original release, the new cards were very slightly lighter than the originals, but otherwise indistinguishable.
Whether you intend to play with one expansion, two, or all three, this set has everything you would need. Playing with all three expansions brings the card deck for the game to a somewhat intimidating, coming in at 228 game cards (Excluding the 60 action cards). That is a massive stack, especially if you opt to sleeve your deck for enhanced durability. I personally opted against using protective sleeves just to keep the deck more manageable, and the cards have held up beautifully through over 100 sessions. I expect to need replacement cards after another 200 or so sessions, which is a rather impressive card life.
