A long time ago in a very distant kingdom, it was a valley with many inhabitants. They would wander without purpose looking for a real leader to guide them. Will you be the king to show them the way? Do you have the strategy to gain their confidence, and are you crazy enough to challenge other pretenders? Impossible to trust them: it will do anything to claim the crown you deserve. No sacrifice is too big or too small for them. They may think that being king is easy as invoked subjects by their side, taking gold out of their pockets by taxes and arranging weddings. But only a true king will be able to manage morale and lead inhabitants through the changing circumstances of the valley and hills. In King of the Valley you will need to get the best reputation from all throne claimers. This reputation will be determined by influence, bonuses and gold. Start by deploying 25 Age 1 character tiles in a 5*5 grid, each king starting on a different tile with 2 gold coins in reserve. In your turn, you can choose to purchase a "hill" tile for its gold price; the hills have two columns of 6 characters, and the characters cost between 2 and 10 gold coins, depending on their height on the hill. When you purchase a tile, you add it to your personal court. Then move your king, stopping him on the character you want to take, or take 2 or 3 identical characters if you manage to jump over a series. They join your courtyard with a visible face. You can use these characters to take kingdom bonuses, dots or gold. Then fill the pitch so that the next player can in turn select characters. Specialists (priests, wizard and tax collector) will sometimes appear and give the player who take them immediate bonus actions
