    My favorite Ally!
    As a rabbit owner, Pooky is my obvious favorite, of the Red Dragon Inn supplements. I love that the mood changes and adds a little bit more complexity. The only thing that I would change is that the ally coins are smaller than the full game coins.

      If you're into Red Dragon Inn, wouldn't be a bad idea to pick this up. Pooky has his own unique deck, slightly more complicated than the first two installments but not so much as the multi-deck characters from RD3. He plays a little like Serena from RD3, only while her piety is a gradual thing, Pooky's mood counter can ping-pong quite a bit (which suits his spastic nature). I don't think there's any advantage in his being calm, either, so it's kind of a silver lining when something bad happens to him that his mood gets worse and he's more dangerous.

      I like playing as Pooky. He's pretty well balanced in terms of strength, kind of middle-of-the-pack. I guess I'll have to play as him a few more times to really get the hang of it, but he's enjoyable and that's what counts in RDI.

      The box comes with a tiny character board, about half the size of one from a full version. There is one glass counter for his moods, but the fortitude and Alcohol counters are both cardboard (boo). He has additional coins, but they are about half the size of those included with the full version, which was kind of a goofy choice. I would have preferred all glass counters and coins interchangeable with the other version, but that is purely asthetic and rendered moot if you just use counters/board/coins from a full version, which you can do unless you are already at the maximum amount of players. That criticism is so minor I'm not knocking a point off; just felt it was worth pointing out.

      Finally, Pooky does not come with a drink deck, which Slugfest has consistently pointed out, and which is why he is an expansion. You couldn't, for example, buy only Pooky and Erin the Ever-Changing and have them duke it out without a full version.

      This isn’t a standalone game, you do need Red Dragon Inn to get started. This deck adds Pookie as a playable character. Pookie comes with his own unique twists and abilities.
      If you get him mad enough he can do quite a bit of damage.

      Red Dragon Inn is, hands down, my favorite game among the ones we own (which includes fun games like Ninja Burger, Munchkin, and Zombie Dice). I used to love playing the priestess, Dierdre. BUT, when we purchased and I started playing Natyli, I discovered my new favorite character! We love to try and play "in character" and so I printed out little paper voodoo dolls to stand in the place of the "dolls" her character plays with. Eventually, I plan to make little cloth voodoo dolls dressed as all the Red Dragon Inn characters. My little girl, slightly crazed voice, with my innocent expression, and playing with my dolls officially creeped out everyone in the game last time I played (well, in a fun way, of course). Sometimes the mechanics of these expansion characters take a little getting used to, especially if you have lots of newbies playing, but it doesn't take long to figure out. I highly recommend RDI and the expansions!

      This was one of the first character packs that I got for Red Dragon Inn. I got Pooky because I saw how he was played and I liked Pooky's gimmick.

      Included in this pack are 40 character cards, 10 coin tokens, a minimized player mat, rules, and everything needed to use Pooky's gimmick.

      Pooky's gimmick is kind of like a Berzerker character. The angrier he gets, the harder he hits.
      His moods are Calm, Manic, Crazy, and Psychotic in that order. His mood gets worse from several conditions, listed below.
      1. He takes any amount of fortitude damage.
      2. He drinks any drink that has an alcohol content of 3 or higher.
      3. He loses a round of gambling.
      4. When a card tells you when his mood gets worse.
      His mood affects the effects of cards, whether it’s increased fortitude loss (for the target) or an additional effect on top of the base effect.

      Overall, I like playing as Pooky. He can dish out quite a punch.
      With the boss cards from the Evil Pooky Character pack, I got to play Pooky as a boss character against my best friend and his brother. I was able to last a good while playing against them. We were evenly matched though, but in the end, I lost. But it was fun to play against them as Boss Pooky.
      Granted, I forgot to add Pooky's Epic Deck (also from the Evil Pooky Character pack) when I played as him, but I don't think that would have made a difference since I would have to be Psychotic; I could not get Pooky up to psychotic. It is possible that I forgot to change his mood a few times during the game.
