Will Your Story Be One of Legend—or of Tragedy?

In this D&D campaign setting, you’ll explore the Magic: The Gathering plane of Theros, a world inspired by the gripping epics, unforgettable monsters, and rich mythology of Ancient Greece.

Set off on an epic voyage across the Siren Sea, where mystic isles hide untold wonders and mythic monsters lurk in the deep. Visit the necropolies of the Returned—where melancholy golden masks mark those who dared escape the Underworld. Or journey into an enchanted valley to join satyrs in their indulgent revelry.

From the starry realm of Nyx, the gods rule over all. They seek champions—heroes to enact their schemes and spread their ideals. But are their gifts ever truly free?

Inside Mythic Odysseys of Theros

Two subclasses also join the fray: Bards of the College of Eloquence are masters of rhetoric, and Paladins who swear the Oath of Glory dedicate their lives to heroic deeds.

Plus, the admired Athlete also enters the ring of possible character backgrounds.

Mythic Encounters

Mythic Encounters

Kick off your campaign with a ready-to-play starting adventure. Players will unravel a mystery, uncovering secrets buried in the depths of the Underworld.

Become An Adventurer

Adventurers come in all shapes and sizes. Find one that’s fun for you.

A elvish cleric, driven from society for trespassing on tradition. A dwarven paladin, atoning for an ignominous past. The Player’s Handbook provides the skeleton for your characters. Flesh them out however you choose.

Halfling Bard

Join the Party

D&D brings people together and forges new friendships. Silly moments spawn inside jokes, moving battles leave treasured memories—whether in the heat of battle, embroiled in social intrigue, or solving clever puzzles, your party has your back.

Adventuring Party

Choose Your Own Path

The woods are growing dark. Behind a mass of ivy, you see the stones of a crumbling castle. What do you do?

In D&D, your options are limitless. Because the Dungeon Master, as narrator of your tale, can improvise in reaction to any choice you make, what happens next is entirely flexible. Do you dare go on?

Dungeons & Dragons Mythic Odysseys of Theros

As an avid Dungeons & Dragons player and Dungeon Master, I recently had the pleasure of delving into the Mythic Odysseys of Theros, the latest campaign setting and adventure book released by Wizards of the Coast. Drawing inspiration from Greek mythology and epic fantasy, this book offers a captivating journey into the vibrant world of Theros.

One of the most striking aspects of Mythic Odysseys of Theros is the richly detailed setting it presents. Theros is a realm steeped in myth and legend, where gods walk among mortals, and epic heroes rise to confront unimaginable challenges. The book beautifully captures the essence of Greek mythology, from its pantheon of deities to its larger-than-life heroes and monsters.

The depth of lore provided in this book is truly impressive. Players and Dungeon Masters alike will find a wealth of information about the history, culture, and geography of Theros, as well as its diverse array of inhabitants. From the bustling polis of Meletis to the rugged peaks of the Skophos Mountains, each location is brought to life with vivid descriptions and detailed maps, inviting players to explore every corner of this wondrous realm.

In addition to its evocative setting, Mythic Odysseys of Theros introduces a host of new character options and mechanics inspired by Greek mythology. Players can choose from new subclasses like the Bardic College of Eloquence and the Paladin's Oath of Glory, each offering unique abilities and thematic ties to the world of Theros. Additionally, the book introduces new supernatural gifts called "Supernatural Origin," which allow players to harness the power of the gods in their adventures.

The included adventure, "No Silent Secret," provides Dungeon Masters with a thrilling narrative set against the backdrop of Theros. Filled with epic quests, dangerous monsters, and moral dilemmas, this adventure offers countless opportunities for heroic deeds and memorable encounters. Whether leading a daring rescue mission or unraveling the mysteries of the underworld, players will find themselves drawn into an epic saga worthy of the heroes of myth.

Overall, Dungeons & Dragons Mythic Odysseys of Theros is a triumph of storytelling and worldbuilding. With its immersive setting, compelling characters, and exciting adventures, it offers players and Dungeon Masters alike a chance to embark on an unforgettable journey through the realms of myth and legend. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a newcomer to the world of D&D, this book is sure to inspire countless tales of heroism, adventure, and divine intervention.

First, let me say the book has amazing artwork. I found it to have thought provoking content for the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) player and dungeon master. They succeeded in building a rich and interesting world. The book is well organized. Quality was top-notch. I had no issues with the book itself.

For anyone not familiar with Theros, think of this like D&Ds take on Greek mythology. If you're thinking about giving it as a gift, it would be perfect for someone interested in that.

If I do have one point of feedback, I would have liked to see improvements in the book's monster manual. More monsters unique to Theros, especially for new characters to fight, would have been great. I would have also like to have seen different "end" bosses. At least for me, only one captured the sprit of a truly awe-inspiring boss from Greek mythology.

Overall, I love it. A great book for a D&D player.

I didn't know I needed an ancient Greek setting, but the more time I spend with this book, the more I enjoy it. I especially enjoy the presentation -- the art is phenomenal, and I'm really digging the art style that paints the stars of the night sky over the monsters and heroes of the land.

The pantheons are interesting, and for anyone who enjoys the richness of Forgotten Realm's deities it will give you even more ideas for how to put meaningful religious interactions and causes into your games.

Finally, I want to give two thumbs up for the representation in the art and prose. You'll find people of all colors and races, male nymphs, and though it took me about three reads to notice it, gay heroes, too! It makes the world feel more inclusive, and to me it sends a heartwarming message that magic and imagination belong to everyone.

Bit of a second hand review since the book was a Christmas gift for 20 year old Granddaughter.
Apparently D&D still holds a great attraction for that age group, despite the other student attractions on offer!
Since her nose was buried in the book as soon as she had opened it and stayed there for many hours afterwards I must assume it was a great success!
