Juego sencillo y fácil de entender. Jugarlo con amigos puede ser retador dado que cada quien piensa diferente e interpreta las cartas diferente. Jugarlo con mazos diferentes lo hace más difícil. Les recomiendo que compren diferentes.

This is a really fun, and quick little game! The premise is simple to pick up, but the game is one that will test how well you know your characters and the people you are playing with. Our son listened to the Harry Potter books last year with me and so we are both very familiar with the characters but it is so funny to see how different we can see them when forced to play with just five clue cards, what seems obvious to one person is not always so obvious to the other. We get this game out often and it is a very quick one to play a couple rounds before bed since there isn't a lot of set up. The artwork on the cards is amazing and the little character descriptions on the side of each card are great. If you or another player are not very familiar with Harry Potter, this brand has several other Similo options that may work better for your family. We also have the Animals one and really enjoy it as well, and we plan on adding more to our collection. We like the game so much we even got the app to go on my phone so we can play on the go without worrying about losing cards. Definitely worth purchasing!

I find it hard to find a criticism of this version of Similo, because it is by far my favorite set. I'm also the only Harry Potter fan in my family. But since it was by birthday, everyone (70s and 80s -old parents, 14 year old boy, and 30s husband) agreed to play. We have all played Similo in the past: Animals, Wild Animals, History, Fables) so it was not hard to play Similo Harry Potter. My family has mostly seen the movies and my husband and cousin has read all the books and we play Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle (but he isn't a fan).

Of course, I was the clue giver. The clues were not 100% received, which means I gave the clue and the characters I hoped to eliminate were not. They did make it to the last round and failed at the very end. I had fun, I think my cousin and husband had fun. My parents were along for the ride.

The point is, Harry Potter fans would have to "know their audience" and it's not so fun to play if you can't make clues for obscure references. And the main conclusion is...that I need to convert my whole family. So as Birthday Princess, I declared my cousin do a reading of Harry Potter Book 1, Chapter 1. And we all sat in the living room listening to the reading...just like in Victorian times, because that's what normal people do?

If you are a Harry Potter fan, YES. Please buy this. Maybe the publisher will release magical creatures in the future if there is enough support. The game is relatively inexpensive, the artwork is fine, the details in the backgrounds are wonderfully thematic. Hagrid has hippogriffs in the background, Tonks has her new animagus - the wolf - in her background, and Remus has a night sky with a moon.

There is text on the sides of the cards that can give some information regarding the character. Most of them were petty good, others I felt were lacking. For example, Hermione Granger is "a smart and studious pupil. Her impressive magic skills often aid her friends in their adventures". Her background is a bunch of writing maybe in runes. Versus, "ginger-haired and humorous, Ron Weasley is Harry's First friend at Hogwarts". Um, okay. We can already see his hair is ginger so that was not needed. And yes, he was the first friend, but it doesn't really capture the essence of Ron. I guess none of the other cards say that they are friends of Harry, but you could make guesses of who is a friend and who isn't by the facial expressions of the cards - pro Harry characters most often have a happier countenance. Except Ron who has a frowny face because I don't know why. Another quick example is Cho Chang, "a member of Dumbledore's Army, she tells Harry that the lost diadem of Ravenclaw is rumored to be magical". Yes, but when I see Cho Chang, I think girlfriend of Cederick Diggory and love interest of Harry.

Finally, a minor section in the Quibbler, Moaning Myrtle and Nearly Headless Nick. They should be transparent because they're ghosts. But they're not. Nearly Headless nick is nearly transparent. Also, Moaning Myrtle looks like Harry Potter! As in, I, the Harry Potter fan made that mistake! I saw round spectacles and thought it was Harry. Her pony tails blend in with her background so I also noticed her face.

But despite these complaints, I love this deck! I would rather play the other Similo decks with people unfamiliar to the Harry Potter series, because they would probably have more fun playing, and I would stick to playing Harry Potter Similo with people who are familiar with Harry Potter.

4,0 van 5 sterren Simple game that can be surprisingly tough to wrap your head around
Beoordeeld in de Verenigde Staten op 2 februari 2023
I've played several games of Similo online and at conventions, so when I saw the Harry Potter version available, it was an obvious choice to pick up as a treat for my preteen kids. We're all HP fans and I can say, on the fandom level, this Similo set delivers! No complaints there. But, I was surprised at how difficult it was for some people to keep track of the meanings of each play. LIKE this character NOT LIKE this character, seems simple enough, but in practice it was tougher than we thought, and I think it just comes down to how some people process information in making decisions. My wife in particular had such a tough time that she decided to sit out of future games, because the sets of plays were creating diifficult-to-parse double negatives in her head and she ended up being more frustrated than entertained. So keep in mind that it may not click for all players! Be patient when teaching! If you already love Similo and love HP too, this is a real winner. We especially loved mixing it with some of the animal and myth sets!
