Product Description

In rising Sun by award-winning designer Eric M. Lang, players enter a fantastical version of feudal Japan and control different clans with unique abilities. The kami unbound expansion can be added to players’ base rising Sun core box and brings the kami from the spiritual realm to the physical by introducing amazing, high-quality miniatures of spirits once only worshipped in the game. The kami will be able to aid the clans who worship them the most and can influence the provinces they are placed in. The expansion also adds the new mountain season cards that can used with kami unbound or the core game alone. *This is an expansion. The rising Sun core box is required to play.

      This game is excellent, the quality of the parts, the art work and the miniatures. The game takes a little longer to play than stated, but time flies when you are having fun. Diverse strategies and different factions providing different advantages and different paths to winning, making great replayability, each game plays out differently, so it keeps it fresh. The Japanese theme is great.
      Lots of different mechanisms -Area Control / Area Influence, Area Movement, Card Drafting, Set Collection, Simultaneous Action Selection, Take That, Variable Phase Order, Variable Player Powers. The kami expansion adds extra elements to the game which add even more variants. I strongly recommend this game for adults, it's a little to complicated for kids and the seppuku suicide action to gain victory points or improve honor is a bit dark for kids. Every one I've played this has enjoyed it a lot. I'm a big fan of Shogun, but would say this is much better. The diplomacy esque ability to make alliances that profit you in the game, or break alliances for advancing your individual game is yet another aspect which keeps this game fun. I give it 5 stars!
