    The 3rd Expansion offers all fans of Carcassonne - the game of the year 2001 - new challenges.

    The land around Carcassonne is haunted by a dragon that makes life difficult for the followers. Brave heroes bravely face danger, but without the help of the fairy, their chances are bad.

    In the city, the castle lady advertises the favour of the knights, and farmers erect secret passages to reach the dragon hort undetected.

    The southern French city of Carcassonne is famous for its unique fortification art from the times of the Romans and Knights.

    Players set out to make their luck with their followers on the streets and in the cities, in the monasteries and in the meadows around Carcassonne.

    The development of the landscape is in their hands, and the skilful use of their followers as waybearers, knights, monks or farmers paves the way to success.

    Welcome to Carcassonne, the medieval tile game

    Your landscape tiles depict roads, cities and monasteries standing on meadows. The expansions complement other landscape tiles with new images such as inns, rivers, bridges and much more.

    Place the starting plate in the middle of the game table and mix the remaining plates. Place these concealed on several stacks on the table. Distribute the Meeple and the competitive building game can begin.

    The family game goes over several rounds, where the active player must perform the following actions in the specified order:

    Always pulls exactly 1 plate. Place this with one side on the playing field. Optionally create your own Meeple from your stock on the plate just placed. Performs all scores created by putting the platelets.

    You earn points when you complete streets, cities or monasteries. You will receive 1 point for each street plate, for each city tile and additionally for each city coat of arms 2 points and 9 points for each monastery.

    If multiple meeples are involved in a scoring, then the one who has more meeple on the street or in the city receives the points. If the same number of meeples are available, both players receive the points.

      I'm a big fan of Carcassonne so strongly recommend the game. This version is just the base game with different art (really beautiful different art). But its a great version to break out in the winter and looks beautiful on the table. If you already own Carcassonne, this is the same game so the question to ask yourself is do you need another version to play in the winter. For me, its a great festive addition to my collection. But if you are looking to change up game play, this isn't the one for you - check out the expansions or the stand alone variants.
