Dark Souls: The Board Game Chariot Expansion
Expansion for Dark Souls: The Board Game
The Chariot expansion is intended for use with Dark Souls: The Board Game. The Chariot is a mega boss, a powerful enemy players can face after fighting through numerous encounters, a mini boss, and a main boss.
When the curse of undeath descended upon the realm of the Old Iron King, he decreed that those afflicted would be confined to the Huntsman’s Copse, a dark glade in which they would be hunted like vermin. Furthermore, a hellish gaol for the victims was created: the Undead Purgatory. In this grisly prison, the victims of unlife would be punished at the behest of the King, a punishment for daring to rise against humanity.
The empire of the Old Iron King has long since been decimated and the lands of Drangleic fallen to the undead, yet still the miserable Purgatory remains, teeming with those that once were banished here. Their excruciation continues, for the watcher over their unholy torment, the Chariot, endures.
Do not be misled! Although the name would suggest that the Chariot is the danger, the two-headed monstrosity that pulls the Chariot ought to fill you with even greater dread. Spiteful and malevolent, it is a creation made only to torment the endless ranks of the undead, a dark window into the horrendous madness of its master and to a forgotten age of barbarity.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2021This Mega boss is uniquely diffrent from just a big damage sponge. Its fight is 2 parts. First you Have to kill Skeletons and Mages while the Boss runs in a circle dealing lots of damage on Push if you get hit.
There are Alcoves to hide in. But the Skeletons that attack also push on hit so they try and push you into the Death Pony, plus they apply Bleed so if you get hit its Very Bad.
Meanwhile every time you kill a Skeleton the Mages raise another on their turn so you have to run and kill them 1st while bleeding and dodging the Chariot.
After all Skeletons and Mages are done then you get to fight the Boss. But since the map is a circle and the Middle is a Wall you have to have line of sight for Range and Spells making it harder to hit the weak arc's. And TheDeath pony will do alot of repeated pushes making everyone scattered and running around the circle for their attack and burning up Stamina.
So yeah a diffrent fun challange.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2020I love the DS board game! I've been collecting all the sets when I can. The replayability of this set is off the charts! It has several campaign options and the boss fight itself has multiple stages. They even included missions that include other expansions in the rulebook that comes with. Takes awhile to set up but thats a big part of the whole board game. The quality is very good. The ONLY bit that wasn't flawless was the Exicutioners legs and scythe didn't want to line up perfectly with the holes in the chariot. I had to bend the Scythe and legs a bit to fit but the minis are sturdy enough, they were not going to break.
My favorite of the souls series has always been DS2 (only just barely) and its nice to see some love. The Last Giant expansion rocks as well!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2021Excellent miniatures and boss mechanics. Definitely functions differently than other bosses in the game, a worthy challenge to strive for

5.0 out of 5 stars Una expansion indespensable

5.0 out of 5 stars Carro Mortale ^_^

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique and Enjoyable Boss
This is my first mega boss and I would highly recommend it for the unique mechanics, it really added a lot to the overal game experience. I have all of the non-boss expansions so as someone who loves the game I think anyone who’s a fan of the boardgame should definitely consider this mega boss. It’s very faithful to the video game boss, and it comes with level 1-3 encounter cards so it adds to the base game too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most dynamic megaboss
The chariot boss is the most dynamic boss I've bought so far. It has 2 general stages, where in the first one you have to control monsters while dodging this mad chariot going around in circles. After you've murdered all of the monsters, the real boss fight begins. This to me adds a bit of a strategic thinking to the game.
