    In Bangkok, you play as a trader who builds his floating market. It is up to you to maneuver well in the port to choose the most advantageous boats and goods and place them wisely in your market.

    Bangkok is a card board building game: everyone will develop their small floating market by placing merchandise cards on a 3×3 grid.

    In about 20 minutes, this management and optimization game will reveal the best strategist among you! You can also have fun alone with Solo mode or between confirmed negotiators with Expert mode.

    Ideal for games with family or friends, we recommend it from 9 years old!

    A very complete hardware for a compact game

    Players will use themselves in the port by exchanging a card from their hand for one, two or three cards depending on the number and type of goods returned on the card to be exchanged.

    With a card of a single merchandise, the player will only be able to take one card in the port. And not anywhere in the port: in the row or column chosen by the player.

    To expand their own market, the player must have more than three cards in hand. He must then place that surplus card in his market. The player who has best valued his cards wins the round.

      J'ai tout de suite flashé sur l'univers et les illustrations, la boîte et les cartes sont magnifiques avec de belles finitions.
      Pour le jeu c'est un 5/5, les parties sont rapides (environ 20 minutes) et accessibles pour quasi tous les âges (à partir de 9 ans).
      Le principe est simple mais les parties nécessitent quand même un peu de stratégie : il faut réunir un maximum de points en récupérant des ressources (poisson, fruits de la passion etc.) un peu comme au kems. Mais tout devient complexe avec les cartes piment qui peuvent rapporter plus de point et avec le système d'échange où plus l'on pose une grosse carte, plus on peut en récupérer, ainsi il faut faire le sacrifice de ses meilleurs cartes pour en gagner davantage… Pimenté !

      On peut faire 1 ou 2 parties de temps à autre sans se lasser pendant longtemps, par contre pour les enchaîner la lassitude risque de vite venir car c'est assez simple et répétitif.

      Mon fils de 7 ans, qui est d'habitude dégourdi sur les jeux de société a un peu de mal avec, donc l'âge minimum de 9 ans semble correct : il faut effectivement bien réfléchir pour marquer le plus de points possibles, et même pour un adulte, il faut quelques parties pour bien comprendre.

      Petite note : les dessins ne ressemblent pas à la Thaïlande, mais plutôt au Vietnam ; mais cela ne nuit pas au plaisir de jouer car ils restent jolis. :-)

      Les règles du jeu sont simples à comprendre et les parties se font en 20 min environ.

      J'ai surtout joué à 2 à ce jeu, mais la situation est la même à 3 ou 4 joueurs :
      - On devine très rapidement quel est l'objectif de l'adversaire.
      - C'est vraiment un jeu très axé sur le hasard : si les cartes de notre couleur (objectif) sont majoritairement vers la fin du paquet, on a largement plus de chances de perdre.
      - Il y a trop de cartes avec une seule ressource, qui font gaspiller un tour pour les échanger contre une meilleure carte, ou échanger complètement une colonne (mais alors les adversaires en bénéficient avant nous).
      - Le système de construction du port personnel avec le placement des objectifs est une bonne mécanique.
      - Le fait de devoir placer les cartes immédiatement lorsqu'on a plus de 3 cartes en main est mauvais à mon sens.
      - Les règles peuvent être surprenamment difficiles à expliquer à de nouveaux joueurs par rapport à la simplicité visuelle du jeu.
      - Les cartes sont assez jolies (et simples), le design global du jeu est agréable.

      Globalement, pour moi le jeu ne vaut pas le coup, que ce soit pour des joueurs occasionnels (concepts plus complexes que monopoly ou skyjo) ou des joueurs réguliers (déséquilibre trop grand si on essaye d'optimiser son score).
