Hammer play

The Columbia Block System offers you an integrated fog-of-war mechanic not available in traditional wargames.

You can see the full strength and location of your forces, but your opponent cannot. This allows for daring feints and bluffs during gameplay.

Hammer of the Scots

Hammer of the Scots brings the rebellion of the Braveheart, William Wallace, to life. As the English player, you seek to pacify Scotland by controlling all the important noble lords. The Scottish player also seeks the allegiance of nobles to support a difficult struggle for freedom.

Four-Step Reduction

Standard units in wargaming have two values, full strength and weakened. With the Columbia Block System, blocks are reduced to allow units to show up to four different levels of strength. This adds much more flavor and variety to overall gameplay.

Hammer of the Scots map

Hammer of the Scots is also a card-driven game.

In Hammer of the Scots, you use cards to move or play an event. Victory point cities are depicted on the 22" x 25″ game board. This keeps play varied and not as predictable as other games can be. It keeps players relying more on instinct rather than knowing the results before the turn starts.

      Overall, really awesome. I was disappointed in the map. The description of the product specifficly stated that it included a "mounted map". This is not what I received. It is a beautiful map but it is not mounted. The card were rather low quality also but with some cool sleeves they will play just fine. The dice and the blocks are awesome. Can't wait to get this to the table!

      A little bit dissapointed that the board was unmounted, just card. The games cards also dont have rounded edges and the tops of the cards dont have a good design. The have the name of the game company written on them. Wouldnt a heraldic design or a bit of Tartan be better?
      I recommend using protective card sleeves.
